Solus Christus: A Poem
For souls secluded in yesterday’s sorrow,
Christ is their hope for today and tomorrow.
For those in the quicksand of drugs or of drink,
Christ’s hand is the limb reaching out lest they sink.
For those stained by lust, whose bodies bear the shame,
Christ calls them his bride, and he gives them his name.
For those behind bars, their hopes and dreams confined,
Christ is the freedom, whom no prison can bind.
For each hurting soul, for loss, for grief, for pain,
In Christ and Christ alone, healing they obtain.
