Noah and Christmas

Man and beasts above the waves
Wait by faith for God who saves.
Sheltered from the floods they float,
Cradled in God’s holy boat.

Though the judging waters rose
Eight believing souls repose
In the Lord whose saving face
Shines upon this ark of grace.

Shine upon us, Lord, we pray.
Lead us where the Christ Child lay.
God with beasts in Bethlehem
Hail the swaddled great I Am!

Christ the ark of saving grace,
Christ our Father’s loving face,
Christ the Captain of the blest,
Sail us toward our heav’nly rest.
